Protecting nature
There has been nature very long before humans started roaming the Earth. For over 4.5 billion years, our planet has been through several life extinctions and explosions periods and supported living things through ice cold eras and very hot seasons. We humans, from our ancestor hunter-gatherers - only 2 milion years ago, through to farmers - 11 thousand years ago, the industrial man - 250 years ago, up to the internet man - at present, have had and have a responsibility to this planet that has been supporting us. We owe our very own existence to this beautiful environment and all that there is in it.
Resource efficiency
Energy resources, as the most fundamental form of natural resources, provide the foundation for human existence. Such foundation determine economic output and human wellbeing by providing resources and affecting biogeochemical cycles. Therefore, enhancing resource efficiency is important in sustaining world's energy needs and reducing vulnerabilities of the energy sources.
